Background and Experience: With 30 years of extensive experience in diving and managing life cycles for dive and hyperbaric life support equipment, Ross Garcia brings unparalleled expertise to R3 Wound Care. His career in the U.S. Navy as a Deep-Sea Master Diver for 26 years laid a strong foundation for his proficiency in leading specialized dive teams in underwater salvage, ship and submarine repair, and harbor clearance operations. Ross’s experience is built upon stringent quality assurance programs outlined in the U.S. Navy Diving and Manned Hyperbaric Systems Safety Certification Manual.
My name is Ross Garcia, and I’m proud to be part of the team at the Stone Oak Clinic in San Antonio, Texas, at R3 Wound Care and Hyperbarics. As a hyperbaric recompression chamber operator, I have been committed to providing exceptional care since October 2023.
The majority of my hyperbaric experience stems from my military background, where I served as a Navy Master Diver for 26 years. My expertise in hyperbaric medicine developed through conducting decompression protocols both in the water and using recompression chambers. This journey began in the early 2000s when hyperbaric treatments were relatively new. My work involved treating conditions such as necrotizing fasciitis and performing skin grafts and tissue repairs for service members returning from war.
Working at R3 Wound Care is incredibly rewarding for me. We have expanded our capabilities to deliver higher partial pressures of oxygen at various atmospheric levels. This allows us to provide intensive oxygen therapy to patients in need. I take great pride in improving organizations, and I genuinely believe that our team is the best in the world in both hyperbarics and wound care.
I enjoy hiking and maintaining my lawn. I still SCUBA dive and teach SCUBA lessons whenever I can.
I am a lifelong Texas Rangers fan.
I am a self-published author of two books and one self-narrated audiobook. I also enjoy bird feeding and watching.
Public speaking and publishing. I’m transitioning my small publishing company into a non-profit organization. I am also a Master Project Manager.
Hawaii. I lived there for seven years during my military career. I love the beach, the Hawaiian people, and the laid-back way of life.
