Intracranial Abscess

Intracranial abscesses are uncommon, life-threatening infections. They are also called brain abscesses or cerebral abscesses. They can be caused when bacteria from an ear infection, abscessed tooth, or sinus infection invade brain tissue. Bacteria may also be introduced by a head injury, skull fracture, or surgical procedure.

Treatment may include antibiotics, surgical drainage of the site, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY FOR INTRACRANIAL ABSCESS

We administer HBOT in a private setting with the latest hyperbaric technology. Treatment takes place in a clear acrylic chamber where the patient may comfortably recline and view the surroundings at all times. The patient is monitored by the treatment team throughout the procedure.
