Cancer, Radiation, and Post-Mastectomy Wound Care
If you’ve endured radiation therapy in the past, you know exactly how intense and invasive radiation therapy feels, not just during treatment but long after
At R3 Wound Care and Hyperbarics, our caring, experienced team provides a variety of wound care treatments to help you heal as quickly and effectively as possible. Whether you have a wound that won’t heal, a surgical incision that has become infected, wounds from diabetic complications, or a variety of other conditions, our wound care specialists can help you.
We are completely independent from hospitals, which means we are able to provide these wound care treatments in a comfortable atmosphere and at a much lower cost to you than if you received these treatments at a hospital instead. You do not need a doctor’s referral to be treated at our clinics, and we have partnered with all of the major insurance carriers and Medicare.

Active debridement is the manual removal of necrotic material with a scalpel, forceps, or surgical scissors. Because the nerves in the dead tissue are not functioning, the debridement procedure may be relatively painless. However, topical painkillers, such as lidocaine, when applied before the procedure, can control discomfort.
Minor cuts, scratches, and blisters are normal side effects of an active life. If your body’s wound-healing processes function properly, you may not even notice
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) has been a recognized medical treatment since 1936 and is available at R3 Wound Care Hyperbarics.
Our team at R3 Wound Care and Hyperbarics makes sure that children feel comfortable and relaxed during the entire HBOT treatment process.
An infection develops when pathogens enter a person’s body through the skin, bodily fluids, or the air. Infectious organisms like bacteria, fungi, and viruses can reproduce and spread quickly throughout the human body. Common mild infections often heal without ever being noticed, but serious infections have the potential to become life-threatening.
It wasn’t too long ago that amputation was the only viable treatment option for severe ulcers, tumors, and injuries on the feet and legs. (The U.S. Civil War alone caused more than 60,000 amputations, many without any anesthesia or pain relief!)
Negative Pressure-Assisted Wound Therapy (wound VAC), also called vacuum therapy, vacuum sealing, or topical negative pressure therapy, is a non-invasive therapy used for deep acute or chronic wounds. It utilizes negative pressure to suction fluids from the wound and helps bring the edges of the wound together. NPWT has been proven to speed the wound healing process, reduce pain and improve the patient’s quality of life.
A skin graft is a piece of skin that is removed from one area of the body and transplanted or attached, to another. Skin grafts are often indicated for the treatment of skin loss from infection, burns, venous and arterial insufficiency ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and very large wounds.
Any surgery, whether it’s a knee replacement or a c-section, creates surgical wounds that need time to heal. When these wounds open back up or fail to heal altogether, additional surgical wound care may be necessary to properly achieve permanent wound healing.
